Mission

Advancing lung health one breath at a time.

Project Pulmonary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit centered around research, community service, advocacy, and youth-led impact. We focus on supporting firefighters who face repeated exposure to smoke, toxic particulates, and airborne carcinogens.

Why pulmonary health matters

Long-term smoke exposure carries risks that outlast the emergency itself.

Firefighters encounter dangerous airborne exposure long after the visible danger fades. Respiratory harm is often cumulative and can remain underrecognized until symptoms surface. Project Pulmonary exists to support long-term awareness, rehabilitation, and prevention through direct community action.

Core initiatives

Programs built for visibility, service, and real local impact.

Each initiative is designed to make pulmonary health tangible in schools and communities while directly supporting firefighters.

Hydration Drives

School-led collection drives that end in direct station donations.

Students coordinate hydration drives with local high schools, collect high-need supplies, and deliver them to nearby fire stations. The result is a clear bridge between youth-led service and firefighter support.

Letters for Lungs

Classroom-based encouragement that connects younger students to the mission.

Elementary school students create handwritten letters and cards for firefighters, learning about Project Pulmonary while participating in a simple act of encouragement and recognition.

Impact

Measured through supplies delivered, letters shared, and chapters built.

Project Pulmonary continues to grow through high school chapters, school partnerships, classroom outreach, and service-based events that turn awareness into action.

11K+ Hydration items donated to individual fire stations throughout the nation.
